His remarks, delivered near the spot where a hijacked airliner crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, were part of ceremonies nationwide to honor those who lost their lives when terrorists stuck the United States. Those in attendance at the ceremony included active and prior service members, as well as survivors and family members of those who survived the attack on the Pentagon.
