June is Skyscraper Month (no,
we did not make this one up!) in the United States and in many other
countries, so to celebrate Thursday Review has an open call out for
graphic artists, designers, painters and illustrators to send us their
best original imaginary skyscraper image--from their graphic novels in
progress or just from their own creative wellsprings. The artist whose
work is voted best by Thursday Review editors Alan Clanton, Sarah Herrin
and Earl Perkins will receive a $40 gift card! So let your
architectural imagination soar, and send us the building of your dreams.
Some rules apply: artists may
submit up to two jpeg images and must certify in an accompanying email
that the art is their own original work. Simple enough. By submitting
your art, Thursday Review reserves the right to use the images in
occasional online promotions via Facebook, Tumblr, Google + and other
social media. Participating artists reserve the right to request that
their images be taken down after 120 days, and may do so by emailing
Thursday Review. When submitting art for the contest, email must
include full name, address and a contact phone number (address and phone
will not be posted online). Winner may choose his or her gift card
preference. The deadline is Friday, June 21, which happens to be the
first day of summer--so don't go to the beach until you've drawn a cool
tall building. Submissions and correspondence may be sent to thursdayreview@aol.com.
